Trio Literatri

Trio Literati was formed to entertain through the power of words, specialising in the performance of poetry and other literature – folklore, travellers’ tales, even recipes. The members of Trio Literati share a passion for the spoken language and a taste for comedy, approaching these from different backgrounds. Maggie Mash has wide experience in radio and television, and is currently Voice Tutor on broadcast journalism courses at Trinity & All Saints’ College in Leeds and at Sheffield University; Jane Oakshott formerly ran the theatre at the University of Otago, New Zealand, and put the medieval mystery plays back in outdoor performances on waggons; and Richard Rastall is a musician and Professor of Historical Musicology at the University of Leeds.

Since its inception in 2003 Trio Literati has given a wide range of dramatic performances, including productions at the Ilkley Literature Festival and the Bewdley Festival, as well as events at Temple Newsam House, Nostell Priory, and Harewood House.
