DESCRIPTION:Vocalis with their Musical Director James Savage-Hanford and pe
 rcussionist Adam Boniface are very excited to perform Sergei Rachmaninov
 ’s All Night-Vigil\, commonly referred to as The Vespers.\n\nThe work co
 nsists of fifteen movements based on centuries-old Russian chants. The tit
 le All-Night Vigil refers to the traditional Orthodox night service preced
 ing Sunday liturgy\, combining vespers\, matins and lauds.\n\nSt Wilfrid
 ’s Church lends itself perfectly to the setting of this work. The choir 
 will move around the church between movements\, which will be interspersed
  with Adam Boniface playing the tubular bells\, adding beautifully to the 
 magnetic power of this piece\n\nFor connoisseurs this work is the summit o
