    To launch our 50th Anniversary celebrations (1974 - 2024), we are hosting a ‘Best of Baroque’ Come and Sing event.

    Singers of all ages and abilities who can read music are warmly invited to join Vocalis to sing some well-known and glorious masterpieces by great Baroque composers for an exciting and rewarding day of rehearsal culminating in a ‘Best of Baroque’ public concert at 6pm.

    Vocalis’s inspirirational Musical Director, Alex Kyle will be our conductor on the day.   Alex is a conductor, singer and singing teacher based in Leeds and is a passionate advocate for choral singing.  He has chosen an exciting programme of music including movements from Vivaldi's Gloria, J.S. Bach's Magnificat, Purcell's Hail Bright Cecilia and pieces by Handel plus Peruchona's Cessate Tympana. 

    We are delighted that Eleonore Cockerham will be the soprano soloist. Eleonore is a locally born soprano who has sung internationally with the acclaimed a cappella octet Voces 8 and is now singing professionally as a freelance musician.  John Longstaff, renowned musician and Director of Music and Organist at St Peter’s Church, will accompany.

    Places are limited and will be allocated in the order registrations are received. The deadline for registration is 8th October 2023. All registrations will be confirmed.
